Each semester, the Institute for African American Studies offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to pursue AFAM scholarship under the direction of a faculty member in a small seminar course setting (AFAM 4250/6250).

"Some have been afraid to engage in the type of conversation we are about to have today because the many issues surrounding it are difficult, and because some constituents might be offended. But the past never cooperates by staying in the past.
