The Institute for African American Studies in the Holmes Hunter Academic Building uses our reference library to better serve students by providing them with current and archival academic texts, facilitating an atmosphere of study, and encouraging academic rigor by supplying our visitors with tools that help to sustain focus, aid research, and assist in project completion. In addition to being a scholastic resource, our library serves as a gathering place to assist in creating informed and caring community, fostering individual and collective wellness, and being a safe space for stillness and decompression. To further serve these goals IAAS has officially registered the library as a Wellbeing Hub at the University of Georgia with the office of Well-Being Resources.
