Carolyn Jones Medine Appointed as the First All Shall Be Well Professor in Religion

Carolyn Jones Medine

Congratulations to Dr. Carolyn Jones Medine, Director of the IAAS, who has been appointed as the inaugural All Shall Be Well Professor in Religion. This professorship is named for Julian of Norwich, a female English mystic of the Middle Ages who challenged the world "to witness the power of divine love and hold on to the hope that all shall be well." The Department of Religion thanks the generous donors who established this professorship "at a time of systematic racial injustice, violence against LGBTQIA+ persons, huge wealth disparity, and many more crises" with the intention of highlighting "the ability of people to stand together in order to break down these systems of injustice."
