But Some of Us are Brave Reading Group & Mini-Grants

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the publication of All the Women Are White, All the Blacks Are Men, But Some of Us Are Brave, an anthology that solidified Black Women's Studies as a field of inquiry centering the voices, experiences, and intellectual contributions of Black women. The book was co-edited by UGA emeritus professor, Dr. Patricia Bell-Scott.

The African Studies Institute, University of Georgia presents the 2022 African Studies Fall lecture on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 3:30pm in the UGA Chapel. This annual lecture event celebrates African Studies programming at the University of Georgia. This year's lecture will be delivered by Dr. Todd Ferry, Senior Research Associate and Associate Director, Center for Public Interest Design, Portland State University.

Georgia Initiative for Climate & Society presents: A Conversation with the EPA's Daniel Blackman

On November 29, 2021, President Biden appointed Daniel Blackman to serve as the Regional Administrator for EPA’s Southeast Region (Region 4). In this role Daniel is leading EPA efforts to protect public health and the environment for the region spanning Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and six federally recognized tribes.
