Darren Rhym is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of North Georgia, Oconee Campus. Mr. Rhym earned a B.A. in English at Bucknell University, in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He received an M.A in English from The Pennsylvania State University, in University Park, Pennsylvania, where he focused primarily on the African-American novel. Currently, he is working on his doctorate in Language and Literacy Education at the University of Georgia. Mr. Rhym’s research interests include the African-American novel, Nineteenth Century American Literature, the Black Arts Movement, Critical Hip Hop Pedagogy, Critical Race Theory, Critical Race Pedagogy, and the Black Vernacular.
